The Shortest Post of the Week!

Ah, Saturday’s. Perfect for laying around and doing nothing. Such a wonderful treat. While you guys are (hopefully) resting up for the new week to come, here’s a musical suggestion for your entertainment!

This week, the genre is Japanese rock music. Why? Because I’m obsessed with foreign stuff right now, that’s why.

‘Inside of Me’ by the Vamps.

I absolutely love this song. There’s no Japanese in this particular song, but it’s still part of the ‘Japanese rock’ genre. I came across this one by accident in a K-Rock vs J-rock video and I have not been disappointed. If you ever need good music suggestions, just go to Youtube and look up something like that. You’ll be glad to did.

So go forth, look it up, and enjoy!

Look, I Made It On Time!

It’s a beautiful, rainy Saturday and you know why it’s a beautiful day? Because I don’t have to work. That’s why.

Happy weekend, my friends! I hope you’re having a great one so far. Here I am with another Song Suggestion Saturday, the shortest post I make by far. But hey, if something I write helps people find their new favorite song, I’m happy.

My suggestion for this week is ‘Shatter Me’ by Lindsey Stirling, featuring Lzzy Hale. If you have never heard of Lindsey Stirling (or Lzzy Hale), you need to check them out. They’re both amazing!

My suggestion has been on repeat for a while now, so if you like violins, dubstep, and a super epic vocalist, this is the song for you! The lyrics, personally, say a lot to me and if I had to pick a song that I felt summarizes my life at this point, it would probably be this one.

So check it out, have a nice mini jam session, and enjoy the weekend!

Might as Well Call it Song Suggestion SUNDAY

I honestly can’t even blame being away from home today being the cause of this late post. I can blame the fact that I worked several hours from home, but I don’t think that’s a very good excuse. At any rate, at least I remembered before I went to bed, even though this just became ‘Song Suggestion Sunday’ once again. Maybe next weekend will be better timing-wise.

My song suggestion this week is: ‘Ghost Town’ by Egypt Central.

I’ve been in a strange musical mood this week. It’s ranged from K-Pop, to Fall Out Boy, to… well, this song I’m suggesting. If you actually give it a listen (which I highly recommend you do), you’ll realize how wide of a spectrum that is.

This is one of those really intense songs that just seems like it belongs in an action movie. It’s a perfect work out song as well, if working out is something you’re into. It gets you pumped up and maybe not feeling good, but it’s been my go to grunge song this week.

Caution: Do not listen to this song while driving unless you’re paying close attention to your speedometer. Trust me.

Sorry this post is so short guys, but I’ll try to make it up with my ‘Random Sunday’ post! Check out the song, kick back, and enjoy the weekend!

Why am I Always Late?

So, I’m pushing the line here to hit the deadline on this as a ‘Song Suggestion SATURDAY’, but in my defense, I haven’t been home all day. I do apologize for that. Pretty sure no one will miss this post too much, but in the event that anyone has: Sorry!

On to the suggestion! This week my genre selection is none other than K-Pop! Most of my musical taste leans more toward K-Hip hop, but everyone seems to call it K-Pop anyway.

If you have not heard this song, or anything by BTS, I would highly recommend you look them up right now, at least if you like foreign pop/hip hop music. BTS is one of my favorite K-Pop groups and this was the first song that introduced me to them, so it just sort of settled in as my favorite. Also, I saw an ‘Attack on Titan’ cosplay cover dance to it (look it up on Youtube, it’s AMAZING) and it just made me love the song even more.

In the event that those of you reading this do not know what K-Pop is, it is Korean pop music. It’s just much easier to say ‘K-Pop’.

That’s all for this one. May this musical suggestion light up your day! I promise to try being more on time for my post tomorrow.

For the Love of Music

Hello and welcome to Song Suggestion Saturday! This will be a relatively short post and I have a feeling it will be pretty useless to most people scrolling past my quiet little blog. After all, this is a nerdy blog, right? Who in their right mind would throw in a musical side track? Me. And I never said I was in my right mind. So ha.

I have very wide musical tastes, so the genre here will vary from week to week. However, if anyone possibly reading out there is at any point interested in these posts and wants a specific genre, please toss it my way in a comment! As long as I do have a suggestion from that genre, I’d be more than happy to base a post on it. Heaven knows I’ll never run out of content for this weekly post.

Enough rambling! It’s time for the suggestion! The big moment of truth! Drum roll please (no pun intended)!

‘For You Only’ by Trading Yesterday

This is such a beautiful song. There are two versions of it (that I’ve found).

The first version that I found digging around on Youtube so many years ago was the piano version. For a long time, I thought that was the only one and I was okay with it. It’s beautiful and haunting and the singer’s voice is something to absolutely die for.

The second version I found on Spotify is a good deal different. It starts out mostly the same but ends up having an intense rock theme after the first chorus hits. To summarize my take on the rock version: I love it.

Both versions are beautiful and I honestly could not pick a favorite if someone forced me to. I love the piano version because of just how beautiful it is. I love the rock version because I’ve always loved rock (that’s what I was raised on) and the intensity of it doesn’t take away from the beauty it possesses.

Since this is a nerdy blog, I feel I should go ahead and state that this song is on my list for an ‘Attack on Titan’ AMV. I hope to have that up in a few weeks, so check out the song now so you can have a good idea of what I’ll be sharing soon!

After giving them a listen, or if you’ve heard them before, which is your favorite? Do you not have a favorite? Are you the strange soulless being who doesn’t like either of them? Let me know in a comment!

Stay nerdy, friends!
